In the battery industry, it can be used as lithium battery excellent medium; It can be used as an efficient solvent to remove carbon dioxide from petroleum gas, oil cracking gas, oil field gas and synthetic ammonia raw gas. In the textile industry can be used as synthetic fiber additives and color fixing agent; In the polymer industry can be used as a polymer solvent; It can be used in cosmetics as environmental solvent and can be mixed with isocyanate as high strength adhesive for wood.

It is miscible with water, ethanol and various organic solvents. Propylene glycol can be used as raw material for unsaturated polyester resin. It can be used as a wetting agent in cosmetics, toothpaste and soap in combination with glycerol or sorbitol. It is used in hair colorant as moisture regulating agent, hair levelling agent, antifreeze agent, cellophane, plasticizer and pharmaceutical industry.
